Core Sound Meeting Burial Ground, north of Beaufort, Carteret County, North Carolina, USA

"Quaker center for more than 100 years after 1733. Migration west was one cause of decline. Meeting house was 50 yards W." Located on NC Highway 101, north of Beaufort and east of Cherry Point. Location currently owned by Tuttle's Grove UMC.

Charles Benbow belonged to this meeting, apparently during the late 1730's and early 1740's. He transferred his certificate of membership from this meeting to Carver's Creek Meeting in 1742. The land to the west of the marker is now largely marsh.
