Mrs. Charles W. Curtis
The death of Mrs. Charles W. Curtis occurred very suddenly at her home on Spring street last evening at about 8 o'clock. Mrs. Curtis had been in her usual health up to Saturday, when she was taken ill with an attack of indigestion. The immediate cause of death was a stroke of apoplexy.
Her age was about 80 years and for many years she has been a resident of Dexter. Previously to her marriage to Mr. Curtis she was for some time a missionary to Japan, and on her return to this country she brought with her two Japanese girls who made their home with her and were educated in the Dexter schools. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter; Mrs. Ada Barr of Omaha, Neb., and a son, Charles Veile of Taylorsville, N. C. The funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
